Macaron Night Turned Breaking Dawn/Chocolate Strawberry Night

I'm gonna be straight up with you - today's post is going to be a little bit all over the place.
But that's okay sometimes, right? RIGHT :)

I recently tried macarons for the first time and fell in love. They are so tasty AND so cute.

I was given a pretty sweet opportunity to review an e-book called "The Macaron Master" by Zaneta Lizurek. First of all I have to tell you, she knows her stuff! She is pretty passionate about macarons (not macaroons, which is how I've been spelling it until I read this e-book!) and the information that she provides is incredible!

The e-book itself is so atheistically pleasing...so cute from beginning to end! The graphics, the text & the photos are all so pleasing to the eye. The organization of the book blew my mind, too. As did the down to earth tone...I actually enjoyed reading it and found myself excited to scroll through the pages. The purpose of it is to teach people how to make macarons at home and to prove that anyone can make them, not just fancy French chefs ;)

My good friend Danielle & I planned on trying a recipe out of the book on Tuesday night, but I'm gonna be totally honest...when she got to my apartment we ended up sitting in my living room catching up on life! You know those times where you just sit and talk and talk and talk...about the ins & outs of what's going on in your life and in your heart? Anything from what you had for lunch that day to what God's been doing in your heart lately and of course dreaming of our future weddings ;)...the topics are endless. Those are my favorite kind of talks!

I feel like I have been MIA from my friends' lives for the past few months because of my last semester of school & my living situation. So now I'm back on track and catching up with all of them :)

It got too late for us to start making macarons, but we totally plan on conquering a recipe from the book sometime this summer! If you want to read more about this e-book you can find the info here. When we do get our butts in gear and make some tasty macarons, I promise that you guys will be the first to hear about it!

Here is what we ended up doing:

Eating chocolate covered strawberries, drinking beer/champagne & watching Breaking Dawn (read gawking at Robert Pattinson). Hey, I'll take it :) It's nights like these that make me SO glad to be finished with school. Instead of spending my nights slaving over homework, I can spend them hanging out with my best friends!

Cheers to great friends, good drinks & Twilight....don't even judge me ;)

  2. Some of the best nights of my life have been when things didn't go "as planned" and what "needed to get done didn't get done" .....when you are on a roll with a close friend...just go with it!

We know you can't resist making your own macarons for very long anyway!

    Happy Wednesday!

  6. Okay, so I was calling it a macaroon too. What exactly is a macaron? LOL! I don't know... I'd rather watch Twilight & eat chocolate covered strawberries with my girls. But that's just me. #justsayin

Love good catch up time with friends too especially when it's no planned ;)
