Lending A Helping Hand!

Hi sweet friends :)
Did you have a wonderful weekend?! I hope you did!

THIS IS MY LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL...
LAST WEEK! Reality is totally sinking in and I have a lot
to share with you guys as far as my plans for after graduation.
So you'll have to check back in tomorrow to hear all about that!
.

If you're new here and don't know what Smell the Roses is,
no worries! You can find out all that you need to know right here.

Last week's task was to meet a need.
I was thinking about what I was going to do & I prayed that God would
give me an opportunity to meet a specific need.
I planned on buying a few items and putting together a little survival kit for
a homeless person BUT something else was thrown my way.

My best friend's mom (Mrs. Kelly) sent me an event invitation on Facebook
and normally I don't even check those...I get so many from when I used to be
in a sorority (don't judge ha!), but I checked hers and I'm glad that I did.

Mrs. Kelly has one of the biggest hearts ever & I know that since this
cause is very close to heart that I want to help support it!

Here's what she said about The Mystic Foundation:

"This foundation was created in honor of a BRAVE LITTLE GUY, Super Sal. Sal was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer at just 4 years of age. On March 19, 2011, after a very long and torturous 3 1/2 years, Sal lost his battle to Neuroblastoma. This horrific form of Childhood Cancer took his precious life at the age of 7. NO child should have to endure the pain and suffering that he experienced! That is why I am asking you to open up your generous hearts and contribute in his memory, so we can continue on with his fight."

Mrs. Kelly participated in a walkathon on Sunday to help raise
support/awareness for this cause. She sent me a few pictures from
it and I loved how this one turned out.

So I donated to this cause last week!
It didn't take much time at all, but it did make me slow down
and think about how blessed I am and how I need to make
the effort to reach out and help those who are in need.

If you want to help fund this cause, shoot me an email
and I'll get you hooked up with Kelly! Sal's mom has already
said thank you :) She appreciates anyone taking the time to learn about his story.

Did you take a little bit of time to meet a need last week?
It could be anything! If you did, I'd love to come read about it :)

THIS WEEK'S TASK:
Make a mix CD for someone.

Please tell me that I'm not the only one who used to get crazy excited when someone
made me a mix CD?! I used to think it was the most thoughtful thing ever. Because let's be
honest...a lot of thought goes into choosing the perfect songs that represent the
relationship you have with whoever you're making the CD for. Not to mention having to
put the songs in the perfect order so that it flows the right way. In high school, my girlfriends
& I had to make a mix CD before we did anything: a beach trip, a school dance,
a road trip to the outlet malls...we made mix CDs for any & every occasion.
So I think it would be fun for us to make a mix CD for someone this week!
.

I can't leave you guys hanging without any pictures so here is one of
the outfits that I wore this weekend :)

My new white jeans, a mint v-neck & purple toes!
Perfect casual outfit.

Shirt: Target
Jeans: LOFT
Sandals: LOFT

We used to make mix Cd's for everything to. Is it just me or was a mix CD that someone else made always so much better than one you made yourself lol.

I LOVE me some mix cd's! My friends and I used to do the same. Also, if we were some where and heard some songs, we'd have to go home immediately and make a cd and learn every word to the song! Haha! Miss those days.
