5 Things I Love & I Need Your Help!

Hi lovelies!

Oh man, these past few weeks have really been stretching me.
Between school & work I barely have time to breathe...but I'm almost done!
And you better believe that I will be spending an entire day just staring at the wall,
letting my brain decompress. Okay, not really...my brain never shuts off,
but I'm stoked to have the time to sit & stare at the wall if I want to ;)

Despite the chaos, I want to share with you my 5 favorite things from this week!

one//
One of my good friends moved back to Florida! After being gone for...
a month...ha! Why he moved to Iowa is beyond me! Welcome home, Curt :)

Twinzies in our black skinnies & jean tops...

two//
I'm really lame and I love chick flicks.
No needless to say, I cannot wait to drag Adam to see The Lucky One
this weekend :)

three//
I got to go fishing with some of my dude friends this week.
We go fishing in the lake in Adam's dad's backyard...um, awesome!

I'm not actually fishing in this picture...but I was driving to meet them so it counts right? ;)

Adam, Hayden & Jon got the nice motorized boat, while JJ & I got stuck in the
little reject boat...because we're not as "serious" about fishing as the other 3.
Whatevs.

four//
I haven't stopped listening to this CD since it came out earlier this week.
I love these guys & I'm so proud that they hit #2 on the Christian charts on iTunes!
That's a big deal, because they give their music away for free.
You can download Ascend the Hill's music here :)

My favorite songs on this album are:
#3: Power In The Name of Jesus
#6: Hear The Sound
#8: Even When I'm At My Darkest
#10: You Have My Heart
#11: Song of the Redeemed

....wow I'm really bad at narrowing it down!

five//
I finally know the dates that Adam, Hayden & I are going to North Carolina
to visit the Mabrey's...ah :) So excited for May 18!

I'm linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for

Photobucket

HAPPY FRIDAY :)
.

And now I need your help!
As most of you know (and if you don't...now you will) I take ALL of my blog
pictures with my iPhone...yep that's right, I'm a blogger who doesn't own a camera.
It's a shame, I know. I'm kind of considering buying a legit camera.
But I have no idea where to begin.
Keep in mind that I know close to nothing about photography &
don't plan on pursuing it. I just want to be able to
snap some good shots for the blog.

SO...suggestions?

SIDE NOTE: MY "DAYS LEFT OF SCHOOL" COUNTDOWN HAS
OFFICIALLY HIT SINGLE DIGITS! Yes, that deserved to be in all caps :)
8 days, people...8 dayssss.

  2. I'm looking for a new camera too! I have a nice nikon digital camera, but it doesn't have much life left in it :(

Let me know if you find something good and I will do the same! My budget is $200 (not that I even wanna spend that much! ahah) and it seems like everything is so pricey now!

  3. yay for graduation being around the corner.

OOH! I want to see the Lucky one this weekend too :)

I cant offer camera tips. I have a Nikon and still use my cell for almost all pics. Bad blogger here as well. LOL

  4. I love my Sony Camera. I have had two Cyber Shots. Both have been just a little over 100 (they have usually been on special or I used a coupon or had a discount) but they are super light and thin and small. The one I have now is like 14 mega pixels. It was like the best megapixels you could get then (it's been a year or so) and still wasn't super expensive. And the pictures always come out great. Hope that helps.

  5. I don't know how much money you're looking to spend, but I got a Canon Rebel as my first legit digital DSLR, and it hasn't done me wrong. I've had it for...6 years now, and it's still running strong. It's great for novice photographers and it takes super quality photos!

  6. Ok, so I don't know if you have finished the book yet but The Lucky One is going to be soooooo good! I think that they cast it so perfectly, and yes I am a chick flick lover too! Good for Adam's Dad to have a place to fish IN HIS BACKYARD! Whenever Matt and I used to be over there for band practice or something, he was always shown' off his "happy time book" (a photo album FULL of photos of him and big ole fish he had caught lol)

P.S. you are the cutest little fisher-girl ever!
    It's Friday! It's Friday!It's Friday!
That means we are hanging out tomorrowwww! :)

  7. I need a proper camera too and rely on my iPhone so much for taking pics. So you like to fish? My husband would love you! I've tried and tried to get into it but i just can't! I do like to sit on the jetty though and read while he fishes... great post! And cute pic of you and your friend!

  12. I have a cannon rebel t2i DSLR camera and I love it! It has taken me a little bit of time to get to know the settings, but the more I use it the better I get:D

  13. I have a small Canon digital camera. I got it from Best Buy. I love it. It takes great pictures & it's fast. Canon is a GREAT brand. I use it all the time and it's got a rechargeable battery, which I love!!!

  14. I can't wait to see The Lucky One either! I'm hoping it's as great as the book!

    Happy Friday!

  15. Your photos are really good and I would not have guesses that they were all on your iPhone. I don't have a really "nice" camera so I'm no help. Have a great weekend girl! I hope to find some time this weekend to sit and stare a wall too! :-)

  18. I own a Nikon D3100 camera. It was pretty pricey, but my birthday is the day after Christmas, so if anyone was buying me a gift I said I only want a little gift card to Best Buy. It was the best idea ever! I love my camera. There is one less expensive than the D3100, and it is the D3000. The only real difference is pixels (not a huge difference) and the D3100 takes Hi-Def video. I highly recommend NIkon!

  19. For a camera suggestion, I would recommend a Canon Powershot SX series of cameras. I have an older model, the SX10IS. You can use it as a point & shoot but it also allows you to shoot in manual and other modes if you ever become interested in doing so. They offer amazing optical zoom ranges and the quality is great too. Super easy to use and compact!

  20. Did you read the book first? Please read the book first, it was so so good. I'm excited to see the movie, although I'm not a Zac Efron fan, so I'm not sure I'll be seeing it in theaters. Happy Friday!

  21. Yay for the lucky one!! I can't wait to drag my hubby to see it sat night!
Have a lovely weekend girl !

  22. oh how i can empathize with your over worked brain right now. i feel like my life this year has been nothing but teaching all day and schoolwork at night. not fun. BUT for better or worse today i will be finishing and turning in my last assignments and i'm done! like you, i look forward to staring at a wall. ;)

i think you all have inspired me to read 'the lucky one' now. and like you, i take all my pictures with my phone so i should probably be checking out the advice people are giving you!

  23. For camera suggestions,I'd say probably the Sony Cybershot. I have the w290 model. It takes really nice pictures for a point & shoot. I think my mom got her cybershot at Walmart for maybe $130?Believe me,if I could afford a DSLR,I would get one! Woohoo! 8 DAYS!! How exciting!! I hope that the movie is good. Let us bloggy friends know how it is! Have a good weekend, girl! :)

Um, i want to watch titanic and then the lucky one. I read that book several years ago and never in my mind I thought Zac would play the main guy haha but hes pretty nice to look at so im not complaining.
I'll have to check out that cd. I love me some new tunes.
So I was thinking...would you like to be invited to my posh party I'm having in clearwater May 4th? That way we can meet...and it will be lots of fun. :-) if not, we should at least do lunch!

  28. First off, congrats only have 8 days left! Second, I think your pictures are pretty darn good from your phone. But to share my picture taking camera selection deal...I have a nikon point and shoot that does the job. I recently upgraded to a canon dslr t2i that I LOVE! I have done a little research on learning techniques etc. Am a novice at best though. But I love my canon. Maybe that will help. :)Happy Friday!

  29. 8 days until school is over!!!? Yes!!! Fishing is one of my favorite things to do and I have never gone on a boat.
