You're Hot Then You're Cold

Any Katy Perry fans out there, anyone, anyone? I, for one, adore Katy. I think she is adorable. But that's not who this post is about today. It's about Florida and its bipolar tendencies. If you follow me on Instagram you've probably seen me post pictures lounging in the sun the last few weeks. Those are the days that I live for...I love my Florida sunshine!

Well this week, the sun decided to take a little vacation and the temperatures are in the 30s in the morning & at night. Thank God it will be warm again by Thursday. I honestly don't know how y'all Northerners live in the conditions that you do. I'm such a wimp when it comes to the cold weather! And I don't think I would ever willingly live somewhere where the temperatures dropped below the 30s on a consistent basis. No thanks.

One thing that gives me trouble during these bipolar Florida winter months is choosing what to wear. If it's cold in the morning, 7 out of 10 times, you'll be sweating by lunch time. So you have to bundle wisely.

Enter: scarves.

These are the perfect accessory to give an outfit some umph, while keeping you warm. But the nest part about them, is that they're easy to shed midday when the sun decides to shine bright like a diamond (I'm on a roll with these pop song lyrics, yeah?).

Marissa is the owner of Sparks & Whimsy, a handmade crochet shop. She's been sponsoring my blog for the last few months and was kind enough to send an infinity scarf that she made my way (just in time for the "cold" Florida weather). Y'all, I am obsessed with this scarf! The color is perfect. And if you look closely in the first picture, you can see that it sort of sparkles...and we all know how I feel about anything sparkly/glittery.

I wore this outfit on Saturday when I was out & about with my cousin. She even tried to convince me to let her have it the scarf, because yes...it is that cute (and comfy)!

Instead of giving her the scarf, I let her take pictures of me modeling the scarf...nice trade-off don't you think? Her way of directing me went something like this, "Be one with the trees. Make love to the trees." Hence the following series of pictures:

Outfit details:
Lace Top & Booties: Target
Black skinnies: Loft
Earrings: Forever 21
Bracelet: Bass Pro Shops
Infinity scarf: c/o Sparks & Whimsy

Marissa is one of the sweetest Etsy shop owners I've met so far. She was such a gem to work with :) And because she is so incredible, she wants to offer all of you 10% off of any item in the shop or off of a custom order. All you have to do is use the discount code: Lovely10. The offer is good until March 18. I don't know about you, but that's reason enough for me to get my shop on! Especially for you cold-state dwellers :)

  6. I love the scarf.. The outfit is adorable!.. We're having the same kind of weather here in South Carolina. I'm originally from NJ but having been in the South the last 10 years I think I've become accustomed to the warmer weather. We had snow and ice over the weekend and I was BEYOND freezing. Can't wait for Spring! :)

  8. Love it! I also really like your nail color. What is the brand/color? I'm so tired of the grays and darks. Love that pop of color.

  9. I live in Chicago so I guess that makes me a crazy person, huh? I actually kind of agree with you since cold conditions can be horrible. BUT, we get seasons...AND our summers aren't usually unbearably hot & humid. It does get toasty some days but for the most part we can enjoy being outside all the time from Spring to Fall. I lived in Alabama for 4 years during college and the humidity and heat during the summer was just as bad as frigid cold weather.

Anyway - LOVE the scarf. Might need to check out her shop...although my boyfriend would probably kill me if I added another one to my TWO overflowing bins of scarves. EEK! :)

    Happy Wednesday!!
