Fall Festivities

It's that time of the year when I start getting jealous of all of y'all who live in a state that actually HAS seasons ;) Florida doesn't have winter, spring, summer & fall. We have three summers & a wannabe spring. But that doesn't stop me from partaking in the fun festivities that go along with fall!

So here is my Fall Bucket List:

1. Have a bonfire.
I absolutely love bonfires! From preparing by cutting down the wood (or watching Adam cut the wood...ha!) to making s'mores, they're always a good time. Our bonfires usually end in a massive marshmallow fight. But my favorite part is how you smell after a bonfire. Adam's dad lives on a lake, which is the prime spot for a bonfire :) Can't wait until it cools off a little bit at night so we can start having bonfires!

2. Decorate pumpkins.
Adam & I carve pumpkins every year around this time. This year I want to change it up a bit and decorate a pumpkin rather than carve it. It's so fun going to a pumpkin patch and walking around finding the perfect pumpkin. I'm planning on doing a post of all the past pumpkins that I've done!

3. Attempt to make a pumpkin-based recipe.
Do pumpkin pie vodka shots count as a a recipe? ;) I'm not a master chef by any means, but it's a goal of mine to start feeling out the kitchen now that I'm getting settled in my new apartment (tour to come soon). I'm thinking about trying out a pumpkin bread or bar recipe. If you have any suggestions, send them my way :)

4. Go camping.
I'd love to make a trip to North Carolina (Hi Mabreys!) and camp somewhere where the leaves change and the weather is gorgeous. But I'd settle for camping at a park here in Florida for a night or two! I doubt my set up would be as glamourous as this, but hey, a girl can dream. As long as I get to sleep under the stars before the new year, I'll take it!

5. Throw a Halloween party.
Adam & I are thinking about throwing a Mad Men inspired Halloween party! I've never taken the time to throw a legit themed party with coordinating decor, but with all of these to die for parties all over Pinterest, how can I not?!

What are some of your fall plans?!

  5. I JUST asked Andrew where we could go have a bonfire because I really wanted to make s'mores! How funny. This is the PERFECT list! I love holidays because they give us reasons to make memories :)

Oh, and go look a few posts back on my blog--I just made a pumpkin bread recipe that was super easy and SO GOOD! You'd love it. It's not very healthy, but I substituted the sugar for splenda and used egg whites! Makes it a tiny bit better :)

  8. Ok here's how we make this bucket list happen:

Come to NC (preferably within the next 5-6 weeks) we will take you camping either in the mountains or on the lake, build an awesome bon[camp]fire, roast s'mores, and then we will go to the pumpkin patch and find perfect pumpkins for everyone to paint and bejewel (scratch that) and finally we will create pumpkin treats of yumminess and spectacular-ness! Then you can go back to hot Fl for your even hotter mad men party - please freaking do that party btw!

Oh and you know what wasn't on your list that you can do? Enjoy our gloriously cool and autumn weather! K see you soon! ;)

    xxoo

  18. Some of these same things are on my fall bucket list as well! I definitely want to go camping, and yes - my camping will be here in Florida, most likely without beautiful yellow & orange leaves - but hey! we get to camp out at the beach if we want to! So that's always a plus :)

And also, I guest blogged my pumpkin cupcake recipe for a friend's blog last week. They are super yummy, so check out her blog to see my recipe! :)
