Loose Change

This weekend was a good one :)
I enjoyed some hang time with good friends; I'm ready to take on the work/study week!

Last week's Smell the Roses task was to collect all of your loose change and donate it or do something fun with it. I combined mine and Adam's change and we had enough to fill a paintball tube (don't ask why it ended up in there, haha!). Our church is currently collecting change for a community outreach that they're putting on at a laundromat in September, so that's where our change is going!

Did you do anything with your spare change? Link up and tell me about it :)

This week's task:
Make a list of at least 10 things that you're thankful for.

It's easy to get caught up in daily stresses that seem to bog your day down. Sometimes it's important for us to step back and acknowledge the little things that we are blessed with. I like to remind myself that some people would trade their blessings for my stresses. That's huge. So this week, let's write down a list of what we're thankful for :)

And because there wasn't much to take pictures of for the task last week, here are few randoms from last week!

1. My Love Club package came in the mail - SUCH a good one this month!
2. One of my biggest fears ever...running out of gas! Eeek! Thankfully there was a gas station super close to me. This is the first time I've had NO gas squares left. Oops!
3. Yeah I found Boots in the fridge. Sneaky little cat. I turn my head for one second and BAM she strikes!

4. Adam is currently getting ready to move so there are boxes all over his house. All of our friends insisted that I get into a box since I'm so small. I told Adam to ship me to Texas so I could visit Meg & Lindsay ;)
5. This butterfly was hanging out at the bike trails this weekend!
6. I got my blog stationary in the mail this weekend. UM...LOVE :) How talented is Anna? In the market for some blog stationary? HIT HER UP.

Now go out and kick Monday's butt, okay?!

  1. Hope your Monday is wonderful and that your weekend was awesome :) I let my car get too low on gas all the time... My dad says one day I will runout and be stranded on the side of the road, ha! Let's hope that never happens! :)

  2. I never let my gas get low...But I have had a few close calls when traveling with friends who don't care as much as I do.

My cat gets in the fridge too....Before I realized this, I locked her in for like 10 min. while I was cooking once. I felt soooobad when she came crawling out.

Hope you have a good week! How far is Adam moving? Will your move have you two closer?

  6. That was such a neat thing to do. I only used my spare change to buy some snacks to keep me awake during my math training. :)

Love next's challenge. I'm a big believer in focusing on the positive, even though it can be really hard at times.

  11. 1.) I love what you did with your change. What an interesting outreach opportunity which I know is a huge gift for those who use the laundromat!

2.) Ever since I got my Prius, I see how far I can go on a tank. It's a dangerous game! Hahaha! But as soon as that last square start blinking, I HAVE to get gas. I'm too scared I'll run out! My record is 520 miles. My MPG record is 54 MPG. :-)

3.) Get your cute little behind to Texas!

    4.) Have a great day!

    5.) I love you!

  12. This post is adorable :)
I HATE running out of gas. Luckily, the one time it happened, some nice people offered to help me push it to a gas station! Probably because the gas station was only 20 feet away. But still! haha

  13. I have a fear of running out of gas too!! I lived in a very cold climate growing up and learned to drive in the winter time, my dad always said "never let the tank fall below a quarter tank". I think mostly this was to help the car start up and prevent the gas lines from freezing. Anyway -- ever since then I am terrified to let it drop below a quarter tank, as if my car might just disappear if I do. My husband thinks I'm crazy because I'm always checking the gas gauge!

  14. Love the stationary and boots in the fridge. It's great that you gave your spare change away, I've been saving my change for the past few months to go towards bits for my holiday which is why I didn't join in this week, am going to do the grateful task though.

  15. I ran out of gas once. I thought the car had just broken down and it turns out I as out of gas. It was pretty embarrassing because I had called a tow guy and everything. My roommates laughed at me for a few weeks. But it was the scariest feeling EVER and I will NEVER let it happen it again! lol

Hope you have a great weekend friend! :)

  17. I love the picture of the cat in the fridge! That is too funny. I almost always let my gas get super low before I fill it up, because I really hate to get gas, for no particular reason! One day that habit will catch up with me...

  18. Haha people always make me get in stuff like that too! Last time I was in a big cooking pot, but I almost got stuck...whoops. Cute stationary!
