Last week of classes before Spring Break - alright...I can do this!
As you know, today is Monday which means it's time for Smell the Roses.
You can find out what it is here if you don't already know :)

Last week's challenge was to think about a goal you've been wanting to meet and to do something toward conquering that goal. This challenge was hard for me because I had so many goals to choose from. I have so many things that I want to accomplish that sometimes I just get overwhelmed.
I'm learning that taking small steps and taking each day as it comes is the key to not losing my mind though ;) This week I chose to pursue a goal that will eventually help me to reach the rest of my goals.
My goal was to create a schedule so that I am not behind and always stuck playing catch up when it comes to work and school. That means not sitting on my computer browsing Pinterest/blogs for hours on end ;) I love you guys, but I've got to start being more productive! Ah! This also came with giving myself a...bedtime. Yep. No more staying up until 3 am scrambling to get everything finished! Okay now that it's been set, I actually have to follow through ;) I also cleaned up my desk and organized my cork boards to help with my new scheduling.
FYI: March 5-11 is National Sleep Awareness Week so this goal came at the perfect time.
Now that I've shared my bedtimes on the Internet - you guys have to keep me accountable!

Another goal that I'm pursuing this week is to take more pictures.
As a blogger, this is where I struggle the most. I always forget to capture what I'm doing.
Maybe it's because I don't do much until the weekend, but still...I'm sure you guys would LOVE to see pictures of me at work and school right?! ;) I'm kidding. But I really am going to start taking more pictures throughout my days.
Did you work toward any goals this week? Grab a button, link up & tell me :)
I also need to get myself on some sort of schedule. I have been staying up late the past month or so and it's impacting my day :/
ReplyDeleteI also need to take more pictures. I always tell myself I need to document my week better with instagram...and I do well for a few days and then slack off.
Good luck with the new schedule and since I'm 3 hours behind you in Seattle I will try my best to call you out when you post after your bedtime :)

PS-Go to bed!
I love your organization board Jess! It's so creative. I too am getting myself on an earlier schedule & sleeping a lot better. I notice if I get up at the same time everyday, I have a lot more energy. Keeping a routine is essential! Catch you during the week girlfriend!

I've been trying for weeks to give myself some type of schedule! Then I always get distracted by blogging... Ha :) and why are your bed times so late?? I guess I'm a baby when it comes to sleep, but I'm out by 10 or 11! Then again, I wake up at 5 every morning :-P

I also need to take more pictures for my blog. I have a fancy camera that's collecting dust. I think that's my new goal :)
ReplyDeleteA schedule is such a great thing! I'm do jealous of your bedtime...is it sad that I miss being a night owl. Your schedule definitely changes being a teacher. I try to be asleep by 10, which usually means trying to be in bed around 9:30. It's really hard to get everything done by 9:30. Blogging has def taking a hit lately with me. I think I should make a schedule too. I wish I was one of those that could schedule a whole weeks worth of posts at a time. Im lucky to do day by day. Happy happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteOk come and do mine now! Please!? :) I need that organization! Blogging is HARD WORK, man! You have to be organized, or you can go crazy FOR SURE!!
ReplyDeleteGood job girlie!
Jenna
I really like your organization wall. I've been scouring pinterest for some good office/organizing ideas just like that...still working on it though. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI am so on the same boat as you! Woohoo for tackling it! You can do it. I feel like I have stepped back a lot from blogging...I felt guilty at first, but I am also getting a lot done. I didn't participate this week again (boo on me...sorry!), but I love the task this week and since the engagement is starting to simmer down, count me in!! :) :) Love you!!
ReplyDeleteGood job, J! With a full-time job and a one-hour commute EACH WAY, I always feel the time crunch. And guess what took the backburner last week? Working out. Not okay! This week I'm throwing myself back into prioritized mode!
ReplyDeleteAND... linking up for STR should be no problem next week considering I do it every day. Literally, every day!
Yet again I am kicking myself for not actually participating in your Smell the Roses challenge. I tell myself every week that I'm going to. So even though I didn't blog about it...my goal this week is to FOR SURE do your Smell the Roses for next Monday. Because I love this one. Also I love your reminders wall. It is so colorful and organized. :)
ReplyDeletehey girl hey. i'm all linked up! except i didn't write about the task from last week because i didn't know about it...but i plan on doing it next week! yay!
ReplyDeleteWow I am impressed by your neat boards! That actually encourages me to make myself a schedule especially with my new job. :-)
ReplyDeleteI completely forgot this week's challenge! I will deff link up for next week. I love the idea.
P.s. I should be sending your sample as soon as i get the new product! So later this week. ;-)
Jessica! Look at your desk! You are soooo organized. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYAY for bed time!!!! You can do it I know!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your little reminder area. That is so cute! and organized! I need to do something like that for my room. But my room needs some serious redoing!
Emailing you back now!
Happy Monday!

i love the way you have your little 'office space' set up! everything is so charming! i long to use those corkboard things, but they just don't stick on my log-cabin walls. fail. but maybe i'll make myself a little 'reminder' sign like you have. because it totally made me smile!

I love the corkboard organization! It is so inspiring to actually get things done when it looks all put together that way!
ReplyDeletePS - Looking forward to next week's task! :)

ReplyDeleteI'm totally going to do this week's task, and I know exactly how I'm going to do it :) I just need to remember to take pictures and blog about it! I also think I might make a bills schedule like you did. So simple and so smart!
