Well...you might get a taste of that, but not in the way that you think :)
I had this particular assignment in college (feels so weird to say that now that I'm done) that really stood out to me. My Intro to Advertising professor told us, "I want you to write down what you believe. Keep writing until I tell you to stop." It was difficult for me to get going, but once my pen hit the paper the words just kept flowing. This is a taste of what I believe:
I believe in loving out loud and loving without boundaries.
I believe doing whatever it takes to pursue your passions.
I believe in hugs from behind and kisses on the forehead.
I believe in laughing until you can't breathe.
I believe in choosing your battles wisely and being present in every moment.
I believe in a man opening the door for a woman, and the woman saying, "Thank you," while she grabs the next door for him.
I believe in sliding around on a tile floor in your socks.
I believe in calling in sick on a rainy day to stay in bed to cuddle or to read your favorite book (even if you've read it 100 times).
I believe in driving with the windows down while singing at the top of your lungs.
I believe in dessert before dinner.
I believe in finding joy through meeting the needs of others.
I believe in following your heart, even if people think you are crazy.
I believe in surprises.
I believe in doing without the fear of failing.
I believe in picking a flower and wearing it in your hair.
I believe that a smile from a stranger can turn your entire day around.
I believe that every single person is beautiful in their own way.
I believe that one person can make a difference.
While I was home sick the beginning of this weekend (thank you for the well wishes!) I did a whole lot of thinking/praying/reflecting. I am SO excited for what is to come the next few months. God is pretty incredible...that's all I'm gonna say for right now!

And last order of business...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD :) I love you!
I love this post! I believe in all of these, especially the one about the guy opening the door and the girl saying "thank you" while returning the favor. My husband still opens the door for me, car door, any door and it makes me feel special. Silly, I know :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

I'm home sick NOW as my family just went home today from a weekend visit, but seriously after reading this list, it makes me smile, which I haven't been doing a lot of today. Thank you for sharing these things with us and helping us realize that this isn't IT especially if we don't want it to be... I believe in much more in life if you strive for it, and I believe in your friendship you let shine through your blog!!
xoxo, Bev
