Take Us Out to the Ball Game!

It's 11:30 PM, and I'm just getting home. So I was gonna dip out on doing a blog post BUT I can't. It just doesn't feel right. Does that mean I'm obsessed with blogging? Maybe. But I'm okay with that ;)

The reason I wasn't home yesterday to plan/do a blog post is because my Granddad gave Adam & I tickets to the Rays' game! We didn't know until the morning of the game, but hey...a free baseball game is always  something that we can fit into our schedules.

First of all I want to say that I am SO GLAD that Tropicana Field is inside. Otherwise I would have a heat stroke at every game because it is so incredibly hot/humid/disgusting outside right now. And it will be until October, maybe November. OH JOY.

Anyway, I didn't want to leave you lovely people high & dry today so here are a few shots from the game...WHICH the Rays won by the way :) (sorry Yankees fans)

Last time we went to a game it was pouring rain so walking up to the field was semi-miserable. But thankfully, yesterday was nice and sunny! Our seats were in left field, but our friend, Curt, had seats down by the infield so he sent me some pictures to share :) Thanks, Curt!

We were in our "assigned" seats for half an inning before we got frustrated with a large family who kept wanting to scoot by us. So we decided to move up a few seats where there was an almost empty section. MUCH better...until an annoying Yankees fan sat next to us. I thought Adam was gonna punch the kid. It bothers me when people are dropping f-bombs like they're going out of style. Necessary? I don't think so.

That is one of the home run hitters, Carlos Pena, getting interviewed after the game! I love going to baseball games so much. I think it's because it's the only sport that I truly understand...shhh ;) Probably because it's similar to softball, which I played for 6 or 7 years. Yep, a little fun fact for you there. I wasn't that good at it...I was better at cheerleading, haha!

Oh and for those of you who are curious about what I had to eat...in the midst of all the ball field junk food, Adam & I found a little deli where I got a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread. Not THE BEST for me but hey, it beats a hot dog or nachos right?!

GO RAYS!

  4. Well hey nice little surprise for grandad!
You and adam are supppppa cute!!!
Well your turkey sandwich is totally better than the hotdog slathered in mustard that would have been my first stop in the ball park... I blame it on going to Royals games as a kid... ya know memory food!

Im glad your obsessed with blogging... its nice:)

    Love ya sweet friend!!!

  6. Baseball games (especially free tickets) are the best! I hear you about having a hard time finding something besides junk to eat. I was at a game this weekend and ended up with a soft pretzel, so your turkey sandwich sounded amazing. I just came across your blog recently and I'm loving it, hope you don't mind, just thought I'd say hi :).

  11. Baseball games can be kind of slow, but I LOVED working during the San Diego Padres games back home! SO MUCH FUN! I guess it didn't hurt that people loved seeing us, because we gave out free stuff. :-)

  15. Girl that is the story of my life. I start nearly all my blog entries at 11:00 because I had other things to do and I dream of maybe just skipping out on it but I can't! Ah the joys of blogging. Anyways sounds like a fun game! I'm a football girl personally so maybe I'll do a few blog posts on understanding football and I'll convert you! :)
