On to Smell the Roses! Last week's task was to go somewhere that you've never been before.
I cheated a little bit, but I think that it still counts! I had planned to go to a new restaurant with Adam on Saturday night, but he ended up having to work 11 hours on Saturday...yikes! Needless to say, he was pretty tired. We still went out to eat, but just to a place that was near his house.
BUT Saturday during the day I went mountain biking with one of my best friends, Danielle. We go just about every Saturday. We've progressively been getting better and moving up to more advanced trails. We started at the easy trails and now we're up to the intermediate/difficult trails. We feel pretty good about it :)
So this Saturday we tried a few new trails that we've never ridden before! We may or may not have each fallen...uh twice...but hey, you can't get better unless you JUST GO FOR IT, right? I'm just thankful that neither one of us broke any bones, although Danielle was REALLY close to falling in a swamp, haha!
This is a picture of us by our favorite trail, "North Creek." Not really sure why the sign says "Very Difficult Trail" because on the map it is labeled as intermediate. But we felt pretty B.A. so decided to show off the sign anyway ;) Oh and check out my little bun...my hair is getting there!
When I got to her house to pick her up, she walked out and we both busted out laughing at the fact that we were matching...definitely didn't plan that one! I'm the short one on the left. Now you can just exactly how short I am compared to a normal person ;)
Mountain biking is one of my favorite means of cardio. We usually bike for just over 2 hours which burns over 1,000 calories, according to the My Fitness Pal app. It's a fun (and dangerous...ha!) way to get your workout on :)
Did you go anywhere new last week? Link up!
This week's task:
Collect all of your loose change and either donate it or use it to do something fun.
Think about all of the hiding places that you have change...in the couch cushions, in the pockets of your jeans, at the bottom of your purse or spread out around your car. In high school, before Adam & I had real jobs, we used to collect all of our change and use that for date nights :) We would take it up to Publix (our local grocery store) and trade in the change for dollar bills. Sometimes we would have as much as $80 worth of change at one time! So this week, gather up all of your loose change and do something useful with it.
Enjoy your week, sweets :)

Mountain biking looks like so much fun! I've always loved biking, but trails are hard to find in these parts. I'll just have to look a little harder!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the follower count Jessica! :) You make mountain biking look fun, even though I'm pretty sure my non-athletically inclined self would somehow perish on a mountain with a bike. Haha
